
The 5 time Grammy winner, Jorge Villamizar has enjoyed success as a solo artist and as the singer, songwriter, guitar player and front man of legendary group, Bacilos. As a songwriter, Villamizar has collaborated to create several hits such as, Luis Enrique's "Yo No Se Mañana" which delivered a Latin Grammy win for "Best Tropical Song" in November 2009. He as also delivered hit songs for artists such as: Marc Anthony, Paulina Rubio, and Julieta Venegas among other artists. Jorge Villamizar is continuously touring and performing fun party music with his hits such as: "Mi Primer Millon", Tabaco y Chanel", "Ninguna", "Pasos de Gigante", "Ser Feliz", and "Caraluna". Jorge is also part of the super group, "Alex, Jorge y Lena" (with Alex Ubago and Lena Burke), which is a top priority under Warner Music, and the group is now on their second single, "La Cancion Del Pescado" which was penned by Jorge Villamizar.
Jorge was born in Colombia and brought up in Ecuador. At eighteen he joined the Colombian navy, he then moved to London for two years to study political science and then transferred to the University of Miami where Jorge founded the hit band Bacilos. Jorge Villamziar currently resides in Miami, Florida and is involved with several important charities such as Musicians On Call, WildAid, Fundacion Colombianitos, Tap Project by UNICEF, and Latino Commission on Aids.
